Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids (piles) are enlarged veins that occur around the rectum. There can be many causes of hemorrhoids including pregnancy, constipation, obesity and overstraining during a bowel movement. Although hemorrhoids can be itchy, painful and can bleed they are rarely serious.

  • Diagnosis: You should see your Bux-Mont physician anytime that you experience bleeding or pain in the rectum, since it may be a symptom of a more serious condition.
  • Treatment: Most people can prevent hemorrhoids by eating a high-fiber diet and avoiding straining during bowel movements. We also offer banding using the CRH system.
