Preventing Gas

Occasionally everyone experiences gas. Bloating in the stomach after meals, frequent belching and flatulence is usually the result of bad eating habits or a poor diet.

To avoid gas eat at least three meals a day. Always eat slowly and chew your food with your mouth closed. Don't talk while eating and don't gulp your food or drinks. Eat a healthy diet and avoid foods and beverages that are likely to cause gas, such as:

  • Beer, Soda and other carbonated beverages
  • Baked beans
  • Cabbage
  • Cauliflower
  • Cucumber
  • Corn
  • Lima beans
  • Onions
  • Parsnips
  • Peppers
  • Radishes
  • Rutabaga
  • Sauerkraut
  • Turnips
